Premier Fishing Lake
Our home is located on
a quiet bay on Little St. Germain, a premier fishing lake for musky,
walleye, bass, northern pike and crappies. Catch
panfish off the pier, or grab your tackle box and take the boat
out for a bigger catch. With 17 miles of shoreline, Little
St. Germain is a great lake to explore, whether you’re
fishing or out for an afternoon cruise.
Nature and Wildlife
If you enjoy the outdoors, you’ll love it here. Wildlife
is found in abundance: song birds, pileated woodpeckers, ducks,
loons, herons and deer. Bring your camera, you won’t
be disappointed. Eagle sightings, while not guaranteed,
are common. The property features a large open area near
the shore, and many other spots to relax and enjoy nature.
Hiking and Biking
Abbott’s Lakeview Home offers easy access to hiking and
biking trails that wind through majestic forests and along crystal-clear
lakes. For starters, you can walk or bike from our door down
Birchwood Drive, a scenic road with very little traffic that meanders
around the lake for miles.
Bike and Hike Trail is a short ride away. This new 12-mile paved trail runs through St. Germain and connects with 27 miles of beautiful Vilas County trails. Another great
ride is the Boulder
Junction/Crystal Lake Trail, a 15-minute drive and well worth
the trip. Located in the 225,000-acre Northern Highland
American Legion Forest, the trail runs along Trout Lake and out
to Cathedral Point. The
Shannon Lake Trail is located minutes from our home and offers
easy and intermediate hiking options around a beautiful and secluded
Pack your clubs and enjoy a day of golf at the 18-hole St. Germain
Golf Club, rated 4.5 by Golf Digest Magazine. The historic
Plum Lake Golf Club in Sayner is another favorite.
Great shopping and restaurants can be found just three miles
away in St. Germain, and in nearby Eagle River and Minocqua. St.
German offers a wide range of family attractions, including go-karts,
miniature golf and horseback riding.
